Meet The Mutty Professor
Roz Pooley MSc CAB, APBC. In 2010 Roz started her own dog walking company which opened the doors to her learning about dog behaviour and training. In 2012, following attendance of dog training school, she started to offer training 1-2-1s, and across the years gathered experience working with behaviour cases as well as completing extensive training and professional development.
In 2013 she opened a specialist shop in Bristol. Pioneering a strict policy on quality nutrition and positive reinforcement training, she refuses to sell popular but poor-quality food brands nor aversive dog training equipment. The shop is considered by many dog owners as the go-to place in Bristol for well-being focused advice and goods for dogs-and the online shop helps Roz’s vision reach a wider audience.
Roz sold the dog walking in business in 2019 to one of her dog walkers, with a work force of 16 walkers and over 200 dogs on the books.
Today, Roz is a ‘front line’ Clinical Animal Behaviourist seeing behaviour cases via vet referral. She holds a Master’s Degree in Clinical Animal Behaviour and is a full CAB member of the APBC and ABTC. She works with and mentors a team of trainers who help her run training sessions and puppy classes.
She presented seminars nationally and to a virtual audience on a variety of canine behaviour and training related topics-even presenting as far afield as the Czech Republic.
Roz lives with four dogs. Kanita the Thai Street Dog, Tooey the Spanish Sight hound, Roo the Border Collie and his half-nephew Mohawk.
